Filaoza is a handmade crochet brand, created with lots of heart and a little piece of my island.
It all started almost by chance.
I’m Lorenza, the creator of Filaoza.
I started crocheting simply for myself, creating headbands, little tops and a few accessories for my holidays in Réunion Island, my home island.
I never intended to sell my creations. I was simply proud to wear something I had made myself, with my own hands!
Then I started creating bags, imagining my own designs and sharing them on social media. Little by little, you started asking me where you could find them.
And that’s how Filaoza was born.
Why Filaoza?
The name is a little mix of the things that represent me.
Filao, after the filaos, the iconic trees of Réunion Island.
Fil, meaning thread in French, for crochet and the material with which everything begins.
And Lorenza, my name.
Creations that travel.
I was born and raised in Réunion Island, a place I’m incredibly proud of. I wanted my creations to travel, but also their names: Tamarin, Bénitier, Filao…
